Kathryn Jane Kensington is leaving her place of employment the day of her father’s funeral. Her father’s lawyer insists she attend the funeral and the reading of the Will later that day. Kathryn isn’t surprised to hear, knowing of her father’s distain, that he had left nothing to her and had instead bequeathed his entire estate to his butler.

At the end of the reading of the Will, Kathryn learns her mother has left her something that her father had tried to obtain for the past thirty years to no avail — His deceased wife’s safety deposit box which had been expressly left to any progeny she might have. What Kathryn finds in the deep recesses of the bank changes her world forever and reveals what life for her was meant to be.
